Pub Crawl Benefits Theater—Patrons, Too

Shakespeare Dallas logoShakespeare Dallas is offering patrons an event that's as much a theater tradition as opening night flowers: a pub crawl. The company's second annual Shakespeare Pub Crawl is scheduled for Nov. 8 and costs only $5 to participate.

Shakespeare Dallas's promotional flyer calls on participants to don their best Shakespearean outfit—a past Shakespeare Dallas season t-shirt, perhaps, or a paper ruff. A wristband comes with the ticket purchase.

The official crawling along McKinney Ave.is scheduled from 5:30–8 p.m., starting with the Idle Rich Pub at 2614 McKinney Ave. At 6:20, the crawl moves to the appropriately named Blackfriar Pub, 2621 McKinney Ave. The last hour will be spent at Renfield's Corner, 2603A Routh St., on the corner of McKinney Ave.

Free parking is available at the underground parking on Thomas Ave. between Pearl and Routh St. Valet parking is also offered at all bars.

All proceeds will benefit Shakespeare Dallas, helping support Shakespeare in the Park, the company's youth education program, Shakespeare on the Go!, and Shakespeare Unplugged.
